Therapy and Counselling for Bullying, Cyber Bullying and Harassment
Being bullied or harassed as an adult in a relationship or in the workplace is not as uncommon as one would perhaps think. It can be frustrating, humiliating and often traumatising. As adults we tend to think that bullying is over when we leave school and we won’t be bullied at work or at home but unfortunately this is not always the case.
Counselling and psychotherapy to deal with bullying explores your response to the bully as it is in learning more about how you respond that you can begin to identify more choice in your own behaviour. We would together form strategies to increase your confidence and self-esteem as the intention of a bully is to undermine these. Our work draws on your strengths, experience and skills that you already have that may have been dented by the experience of being bullied. Breaking the silence about being bullied is the first step.
If you have been accused of bullying or harassing someone at work or at home, there is much that we can work on in counselling and psychotherapy in order to address the behaviour and explore why you have developed these thoughts, feelings and actions towards another. We would work together to create greater understanding of your behaviour, increase awareness of how you impact upon another person and form strategies to contain inappropriately angry responses.
There are great pressures upon us in modern life, both at work and at home and one of the ways that we cope is to become angry.
